Meet Amy

Amy is a certified mindfulness facilitator, Awakening Joy instructor, and qualified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher, trained by meditation teacher James Baraz and the Brown University School of Professional Studies. Drawing on both ancient contemplative traditions and contemporary science, her classes and retreats use guided meditation, experiential learning, and group dialogue to support individuals in developing greater self-awareness, compassion, and emotional resilience.

Amy’s background also includes rigorous training in scientific research; she received her Masters’ degree in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan in 2002. In early 2026, Amy “retired” from a 25‑year career in clinical research to teach mindfulness. Having experienced the benefits of mindfulness practice firsthand, and seeing the strong research behind it, she felt inspired to share these powerful tools with others.
